Collection of Synthetic Aperture Radar Missions

Sometimes people ask me whether country A or B has a SAR mission, or what the status of satellite X is. Here I'll try to keep a list of known SAR missions around the world, without going too much into details.

The criteria for satellites to be listed here are: Imaging Radar Technology, Earth Observation Mission, Space Borne. They are sorted in the order of first satellites launch date.

RISAT-2, India - ISRO

Launch Date: 20 April 2009.

COSMO-SKYMED, Italy - ASI

Constellation of four. Launch Dates: 8 June 2007, 9 December 2007, 25 October 2008, expected in 2010.
X band radar, spotlight, stripmap and scansar, 1-100m. resolution, dual polarization, 10x10 - 200x200 swath

SAR LUPE, Germany - OHB System AG

Constellation of five. Launch Dates: 19 December 2006, 2 July 2007, 1 November 2007, 27 March 2008, 22 July 2008.
X band radar, spotlight and stripmap modes, 0.5-1m resolution, 5.5x5.5km - 8x60km swath
