Tunneling SAMBA Through SSHAt the university we have a wide range of computers platforms we process data. We also have file servers consisting of several RAIDs holding up naby terabytes of data. The challenge that we were facing was to access all this data when we are away from campus. |

Installing Subversion on SuSE SLES 10Trying to install anything on SuSE proves a lot more difficult than installing the weirdest thing on Ubuntu. At work, we use SuSE SLES so I have to deal with it somehow. |

SSH TunnelingMost of the time I do my work on the computers, and even when I am home, I connect to other, more powerful computers. Therefore when I am traveling it is important that I keep my connection to those computers. But of course there is the problem of firewalls. In most cases the system administrators let you connect only to limited number of computers. So you have to jump from those open-access computers (the gateways) to the ones you need (secure-servers). |
